Hi all!
Having just acquired a 2001 Savage, I'm delighted to have found this site and look forward to returning on a regular basis.
My machine is still winterized and has not yet been run. I too am brand new to the sport and can't wait to get started this spring.
Many postings here seem to focus on improving the sound of the machine with different exhause systems and mods. Having not yet heard an actual Savage, my question is -- does it really sound that much like a sewing machine? Is it that disappointing or are there owners out there who are fans of the factory sound. Could somebody please describe what I can expect to hear when I start it up next month.
